Acoustic pods for schools, universities and libraries
Study pods, sensory rooms, music practice rooms, tutorial spaces and somewhere for staff to take a call. One shell does all of it, it needs no building work and no consent, and it can be moved when the timetable or the building changes. The one thing education buyers get wrong is the glass, and that is the first section below.
Six models, one configurator
Every FocusPod has a glass front and rear, built-in wheels and adjustable levelling feet.

Start with the glass, because education is the exception
Everywhere else we would tell you to frost the glass for privacy. In a school, and often in a university, the opposite is usually required: staff need to be able to see into any room a student is in, and a pod that cannot be seen into will not be approved by whoever is responsible for safeguarding.
So specify clear glass for anything students use unsupervised, and keep frosting or a wrap for staff rooms, counselling and welfare spaces where the requirement genuinely reverses. If you are not sure which applies, ask the person who signs off safeguarding before you order rather than after, because changing glass later costs more than choosing it now.
The acoustic performance is unaffected either way. Privacy in a school pod comes from the sound, not the sightline.
What education actually uses them for
Study and group work. Libraries and learning centres use them for individual focus and for small group work that would otherwise disturb a silent floor. This is the highest-utilisation use by a distance.
Sensory and calm rooms. A low-stimulation space with soft seating, muted finishes and dimmable lighting. Dimmable lighting with adjustable colour temperature is standard on every model, which is most of the specification already.
Music practice. Works well for individual practice and quiet instruments. It is not a substitute for a built practice room if the requirement is drums or amplified brass, and we would rather tell you that now than have it fail in use.
Tutorials, interviews and pastoral conversations. A two-person pod gives you a private room in a corridor that had none.
Staff. Somewhere to take a parent call without finding an empty classroom.
Buying in education
Two constraints shape this more than the product does. Budgets are annual and often tied to a term or a capital cycle, so lead time matters: made to order is roughly four weeks plus shipping and installation, and we will put the window in writing so you can hold it against your dates.
And procurement is usually a quotations process rather than a tender at these values. We publish every price, which means you can build a costed proposal before you speak to anyone, and we will provide whatever documentation your finance or estates team needs.
Every model, priced
Published, so a costed proposal does not need a phone call first. Furniture and installation are separate lines.

Prices are for the pod in the configuration you choose. Finishes, furniture and compatible extras are listed separately as you build. Delivery, destination costs and any applicable tax are confirmed on your written quotation, so the total you approve is the total you pay.
Work out what your project actually costs
Choose the model and the quantity and you will have a real number in a few seconds. No enquiry, no email address, no waiting for someone to come back to you. Every figure below is the same one you will see in the configurator.
We do not guess what a builder would charge you. Put your own quote in and we will show you the difference against ours.

What is included as standard
Every FocusPod arrives with laminated glass front and rear, layered acoustic insulation, adjustable ventilation, dimmable LED lighting with adjustable colour temperature, power and an occupancy light. Speech level reduction is laboratory tested at greater than 29 dB under ISO 23351-1, the international standard written specifically for pods. Every pod is covered by our five-year structural and electrical warranty.

There is no separate charge for the black or white exterior or for the standard interior palette. Other exterior colours use the displayed upgrade price, and a custom interior colour is priced per pod. All of it is listed separately as you build, so nothing arrives as a surprise on the quotation.
See it properly before you decide
Take a look inside. The film below walks through the Solo, the most compact model in the range, and the 3D configurator lets you turn any model around, change the finishes and try the furniture layouts. If you would rather be walked through it, we will do a live video walkthrough of the pod you are considering and answer questions as we go.
Common questions
Should the glass be clear or frosted in a school?
Clear for anything students use unsupervised, because staff usually need to be able to see in. Frosted or wrapped for staff, counselling and welfare rooms. Confirm with whoever signs off safeguarding before ordering.
Is it suitable for music practice?
For individual practice and quieter instruments, yes. For drums or amplified brass you need a built room, and we would rather say so than sell you the wrong thing.
Can it be moved between buildings?
Yes. Freestanding on levelling feet, not fixed to the structure, so it can be dismantled and reassembled on another site.
How long does delivery take?
Made to the configuration you approve. Around four weeks from a confirmed order, plus shipping and installation, with the window confirmed in writing for your address.
Does it need electrical work?
No. Standard socket, no fixed connection, no fixing to the building.
Are the front and rear both glass?
Yes. Every FocusPod has glass at both the front and rear. Standard glass is clear. Optional PDLC privacy glass can be selected for the front only or for both the front and rear.
Can I move the pod once it is installed?
Yes. Every FocusPod has built-in wheels and adjustable levelling feet. Raise the feet to move the pod on its wheels, then lower and adjust them to level the pod in its new position.
